roadtrip mixes / where music comes from
Last night I completed the second draft of a new summer roadtrip mix, which I think is just about honed to perfection now. As usual, copies are available through the Raccoon Mix Exchange.
While working, I noted that looking at where the music for this mix came from reveals a briarpatch of crisscrossing legal / illegal / semi-legal forces. Although this is getting to be increasingly par for the course for anyone seriously interested in music I thought I'd post the exact breakdown here.
Of the 17 tracks on the completed mix...
...5 come from CDs I bought or otherwise legitimately own (gifts, etc.) ...2 come from CDs burned for me by friends ...3 come from albums I uploaded directly to iTunes from the CD collections / iPods of friends ...5 were downloaded from MP3 blogs (three (!) from Music For Robots) ...and 2 were purchased through the iTunes Music Store.
